Gift Guides can be so helpful! Shopping for kids these days is hard because, err, they seem to have everything! Does anyone else feel this way? When we were growing up I feel like birthdays and Christmas were so monumental because we got gifts we had been waiting for… for so long. I don’t want to admit that my kids are spoiled, but I feel like they are. They get things whenever they need them! And of course, I know, they will learn the value of money and other things at the right time, but jeepers it makes shopping for something special just that much harder 😉
My coworker recently reminded me that they don’t understand what money really is, so the “dollar amount” you set has no bearing on them whatsoever. This was a great tip as I created this gift guide. Why did we initially say, “$100” or whatever amount? The kids have no idea what that actually means! So, I kept this in mind when I created this gift guide.

A Gift For the Gymnast
Have you seen these collapsable gymnastics bars? What a great way for her to practice her pullovers and build arm strength! For any MN Mama, this one needs to be added to your collection to beat the cold winter blues! Set it up with a practice mat and she’ll have hours of fun.
A Gift For the Outdoorsy Girl
Julia loves doing anything with me, and one of my hobbies happens to be gardening! Or trying to, anyways. At our old house I had cultivated bushes and flowers and plants and LOVED spending time weeding and watching it bloom. I can’t wait to get back into that this summer! How adorable is the little planter’s kit! Additionally, she’ll need a cute pair of rain boots like Mama to weed through the dewdrops on the plants in the mornings. We’ve also been having fun talking about putting the tent up in the backyard, so the fun little sleeping bag is another great option for something different!
A Gift For the Glam Girl
The JoJo Siwa headphones are not too much bling, are they? Julia doesn’t seem to think so! She’ll be rocking through kindergarten with these plugged into her little Chromebook, I can already see it! And she loves all things glam, so of course the nail kit will surely take up a few hours of fun time.
Gifts For the Builder
Girls don’t only like glam stuff, but I try and encourage other hobbies as well! We love magna-tiles and Jenga blocks, so a Duplo set is a great way to get her trying something new! She also loves beading bracelets and necklaces for every single person we know, so the bead collection (dear God, please don’t let it spill!) is another great gift idea!
Gifts For the Techy Girl
Julia has been eyeing up my iWatch for some time, so I figured maybe a watch would be a good gift for her! Nothing too fancy, but the VTech one below is a great choice for your little sweetie! And, my husband will probably kill me, but I feel like we need a bluetooth microphone in the house… right? I mean, I can just hear the performances!
As you may have gathered, I’m all about balance… so make sure you do the “one for you, one for me” rule and grab something for yourself! I just revisted my Amazon Quarantine Picks and there’s some great things on there for you, Mama! What’s your favorite gift you got for this age group? The one that’s been used and loved the most? Share in the comments so we can snag some more ideas!
XO,
Linds
