Valentines Day: Gift Basket Inspo’ for your Family

February 11, 2021 1 Comment

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and what a fun and cute way to give your family a special little treat. Have you ordered your heart-shaped pizza from Papa Murphy’s yet? In addition to the delicious pie you can eat, I’ve seen a lot of fun ideas to create a little basket from Cupid to do something special for the most loved people in your life. Let’s use this fun little phrase: Something Salty, Something Sweet, Something Smart, and Something Neat! So, grab a cute, reusable tote or basket from Target or Amazon to display all the fun things you put in there, and let’s put these gifts together!

V-Day: Something Salty

Fill that basket with your family’s favorite salty snacks. My kids love Pirate’s Booty, Popcorn, and Beef Jerky! I mean really, anything can work here… my kids would literally eat chips every single day of their lives if I would let them! Little packs of Goldfish would be super cute, too.

V-Day: Something Sweet

Who can go into Valentine’s Day without candy? Chocolates, tarts, you name it! Hershey’s Kisses, M & Ms, and anything Reese’s Peanut Butter is my jam! Let Cupid know I sent you to the chocolate aisle, and don’t skimp out! I’ve even thought it could be fun to make a special treat with the kids. I’ve been dying to make this recipe from Fit Foodie Finds: Funfetti Cake Batter Dip!

V-Day: Something Smart

My kids love to be read to, and I’m always looking for some new and thoughtful material to add to our shelves. It’s about time we also started to weed out some of the books that are ripping to shreds. Additionally, I cry every time I think of getting rid of Goodnight Moon because my kids read it every night before bed for almost 2 years. I think I’ve mentioned this before, but did you know the little mouse hides somewhere different on each page? Here are a few new titles I’m interested in adding to our book collection for Valentine’s Day this year: One Love by Cedella Marley, I Love you, Stinky Face by Lisa McCourt, and The World Needs More Purple People by Kristen Bell and Benjamin Hart. This year I’m also adding a few little fun things for the kids to do to stimulate their brains (instead of TV of course!) like the game RUSH HOUR (which, thank you to my friend who posted a shared post from The Rambling Redhead) or just a fun bag of Kinetic Sand!

V-Day: & a Special Treat

I wouldn’t be a Mama if I didn’t think special treats were important–for both my kids and ME! So, of course I added a few items to the list that Mama & Daddy can enjoy together on Valentine’s Day! For example, how about soft blankets like this one from Project 62 in the adorable pink Chenille, delicious candles like Pop the Bubbly, and would it even be relaxing if you didn’t at least attempt to take a bath with a bath bomb? A Glam Bath Bomb looks like the perfect way to end the night after the kids go to bed 🙂 I’m always game for ideas for Mama, so you can refer back to this gift inspo‘ post from last Mother’s Day to see a handful of more thoughtful ways to spoil yourself!

I love sharing ideas to make these cute little holidays seem more special to the little people in our life! I like the idea of keeping it simple though, so we don’t overwhelm ourselves with too much. Sometimes even the smallest gestures are remembered, anyways! Do you have any ideas for your special Valentines? If so, please feel free to share in the comments so I can add them to my list for next year! You can also find a bank of links in my Like to Know it Profile! It’s SO easy to download the app and follow me there to find shoppable links so you don’t even have to leave your house 🙂
