New Home Decor for the Band of Mamas Blog

June 8, 2020 No Comments

Moving into a new home is SO fun. From selecting new pieces for your space, to repurposing old ones in new ways, it all seems to tie together nicely with some vision and organization. We’ve had a lot of excitement around moving, so it was a nice break for me to do some “clicking” online and have some new stuff shipped to our new home!

Here are my most favorite finds for our new digs!

Murray's New Home Decor

Project 62 Throw Blanket

Mama’s favorite seat in the house, my brown leather recliner, has seen better days. It’s starting to shed where my hair rubs on the back. I can’t seem to part with it yet; maybe it’s the perfect rock, or the countless memories I have swaying with my babies–sometimes all of them at once–but I know it’s not time to move on just yet. However, it is time to cover up that ugly spot, so I got this adorable faux fur blanket to throw over it. The kids love and it’s stylish, so I consider it a win-win for everyone!

Dunlop Modern Barstool from Wayfair

Stylish and sleek Teal barstools for the island counter! We needed a pop of color, and these were just IT.

Threshold Chambray Duvet

Before we moved, our bedroom needed a refresh, so I purchased this Threshold Duvet for our comforter from Target and I LOVE it.

Wayfair Dining Table, Bench, & Chairs

Nothing makes me happier than sitting around the kitchen table eating dinner as a family. It is one of my fondest memories as a kid and still to this day–sitting around the table with my family and enjoying a meal and sharing stories is one of my favorite pastimes. This Ismay Extendable Dining Table from Wayfair was the perfect Industrial Farmhouse style I was going for.  And of course, Farmhouse meets Industrial with these Sanfant Stackable Black & Gold steel frame chairs. I’m obsessed with benches, and this Ismay Upholstered Bench is the style that comes with the table, so I went with it and it’s perfect!

Entryway Indoor/Outdoor Rug

Let’s talk about the entryway. What kind of rug do you prefer? Our old home had a very small entryway that was immediate as you walked in the door. In the wintertime, there was constantly water all over the floor, so I bought a seasonal rug from Costco that worked for the space, but it didn’t work here. Therefore, I browsed online and found these SUPER cute Fab Habitat indoor/outdoor and reverseable rugs. Now that we have a space to take off snowy boots and wet shoes (in the garage which is FINALLY connected to our house!), this rug is proving to be the perfect mix between stylish & functional!

Front Step Layered Rugs

I have to give a shoutout to one of my favorite {real Mama!} bloggers, Ashley–over at curlsandcashmere.com. She inspired me with this cute buffalo check rug for our front step layered with this adorable HELLO Rug over the top. I love finding inspo that is functional & cute!

Bathroom Decor

Our home needed finishes in the bathrooms–shelves, towel racks, toilet paper holders, you name it. Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of mixing metals, so in the bathroom we’ve got some nickel, some gold, and some brushed steel. These shelves from Amazon are SO cute and functional, and I fell in love with this Sweet Cheeks sign. I threw it in a gold frame from TJ Maxx and it’s adorbs! I still need to find somewhere to hang these sweet little mason jar flowered lights. This style is totally inspired by my very own Mama. She’s always finding solar powered lights for the yard at the cabin, hanging little ornamental lights in the trees, or along the path where the deck meets the cabin door. Lovely!

I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into some of our style here at the Band of Mamas house. It’s been a lot of work but everything is coming together nicely. It feels like HOME.

XO,

Linds
