Maple Holistics: ANatural Product Review

October 23, 2019 No Comments

One of my favorite parts of being a blogger is being able to try out products. I enjoy reviewing them for the Band of Mamas followers. Recently, a company called Maple Holistics reached out to me and sent me a sample of their Silk18 hair conditioner, and let me tell you… I am in love!

Trying out Maple Holistics

If you’ve been following the blog, you know that I am always looking for ways to incorporate natural products into my family’s life. Last year I wrote about making Healthy-(ier) choices, which can be a long process when you’re making the switch. One of my fellow Mama friends and lifelong sister got me hooked on Beautycounter, and specifically, their baby line. Their diaper cream is by far the best I have used; I put it on both my kids’ little bums anytime I see a sign of red, and by morning, they are good as new! I am buying a few to keep on hand for when the new baby is born.

Naturally, when Maple Holistics sent me their conditioner, I was really excited to try it. Before that though, I went on their site and did a little bit of reading. I saw values and core beliefs similar to that of Beautycounter. They have a “Never” list, with ingredients they won’t use, and they also have a great Blog to follow to keep up with their product lines and news releases.

I purchased their shampoo to use with the conditioner, because, well, obviously I can’t try one without the other!

Maple Holistics Silk 18 Shampoo & Conditioner

Silk 18 Shampoo & ConditionerFirst impression, which is huge for me, is smell. There isn’t really a strong scent with the shampoo, which I believe is a good sign that they aren’t adding a ton of fragrance. Synthetic fragrances can cause a variety of different reactions in the body. The shampoo lathered well and did its job. I have used other natural shampoos before and I often feel that the lather is lacking! Additionally, when I got to the conditioner, I was even more impressed. It has a slight vanilla scent, which is just perfect for me! I left it on for a few minutes as I usually do, rinsed, and was ready to do my hair as usual. My hair didn’t feel weighed down or slick, so in the end, the conditioner rinsed well, which is important to me!

Upon blow-drying, I felt my hair was just like the label said… Silk(y)! YES! I continued with my normal routine of using my straightener to put some loose waves in on Day 1,Silky Hair with Silk 18 and then straightening it on Day 2. Caveat: I am a huge fan of washing my hair almost everyday and although I know this is frowned upon, my hair is super healthy! If I don’t wash my hair everyday, I feel like my face is an oily greaseball and I get acne. So, YES. On Day 2, I washed and conditioned it again… and it was still as silky as ever! Win, win, in my book. Check out these waves and this shine. The 23 week bump is looking good, too 🙂

Maple Holistics Essential Oils

Aside from their shampoo and conditioner set, I am also suggesting to try out their essential oils. Now, there’s a lot to know about oils, and particularly, that there is not a lot of FDA regulation Kitchen Sink Combo: Baking Soda & Lemon Essential Oilabout them. So people have to be careful when things say, “Natural”. I will say, that on their site, Maple Holistics has done a great job explaining how they manufacture their products. This includes, but is not limited to, when they talk about how the oils are formulated. For instance, their Lavender essential oil’s Extraction Method is “steam distilled from flowers.” Many oils you can buy in store and online will say “Therapeutic Grade,” but this is a nice side note to better understand what that means. I am happy to report that I l.o.v.e their essential oils and they are so affordable!

I purchased the Essential Oils Set, which happens to include all my favorite, most commonly used oils. I will most definitely be purchasing these again! The other day I took one look at my kitchen sink and knew it needed a good scouring. I got out my scrubber, baking soda, and a few drops of my Maple Holistics Lemon Essential Oil. I used the oil for a fresh added smell, and voila! It was shining bright again, with no added nasty chemicals where I wash our family dishes.

Worth the Chance

I am a huge fan of only recommending products I use, enjoy, and would suggest for my family to use as well. So, if that’s any validity to you, Maple Holistics is giving Band of Mamas followers a 15% off code with MAPLEFUN!

Happy shopping, Mamas! I hope you enjoy this product review and give this company a well-deserved shot.

XO,

Linds
