I’ve rounded up my 2019 Cabin Season Must Haves for the MN Summer! There is nothing better than heading to the cabin for a long weekend, and what better list to provide you with after our few trips this year.
My parents have a cute little cabin on Mille Lacs Lake, which [is known for its fishing and lucky for us!] is the perfect hour and a half drive north. We’re out of the city but close enough to pick up and go whenever we please. This is only our second year with the family cabin, so I’ve been learning the ins and outs of what we need and what we don’t need to overpack!
Cabin Season Must Haves Checklist
In no particular order, here are the Band of Mamas picks for your summer cabin season must have items.
Toddler Easy Fold Nap Mat is so cute and functional. Little kids don’t need anything fancy!
Smores Campfire Roasting Sticks I mean… I could eat s’mores all day. I prefer a metal roasting stick, but of course, a regular stick will do, too!
Portable Highchair is perfect for eating outside at the picnic for the hard to wrangle littles.
Toddler Life Jacket… these are so fantastic! They are not back heavy and are great alternatives for little swimmers learning to navigate water.
Radio Flyer Wagon we take the kids up to the little market for ice cream and a wagon or a stroller is a must have item. They love when Grandma pulls them in the wagon 🙂
Babyganics Sunscreen and Bug Spray duo is a great pair and safe for kids! This is a necessity for your cabin season must have(s) because well, sunscreen for daytime and bug spray for the pesky skeets at night.
Freezies are a MN staple in the summer. The box doesn’t last long!
Toddler Water Shoes are fantastic for rocky or rough shores. We are on the shallow side of the lake which has mostly sand, however, our shore has a lot of rocks that you need to walk over and around to get to the sand. These little shoes are fantastic!
Great Big Mabel water tube is perfect for toting around the lake with the littles! What fun they have and their giggles are priceless.
I LOVE being up north with the kids. Although this stage of life isn’t quite as relaxing up there as it will be someday, there is nothing more special than creating memories with the family and watching the kids run free up there. Do you have any recommendations for cabin season must haves? If so, share in the comments below!
I hope you all are enjoying our MN Summer!
XO,
Linds
