We are in the middle of giving our living room a Much Needed facelift. It’s time. We have lived here for six years this year and still haven’t given the room a fresh coat of paint. In my defense, I LOVE the color of green the previous owners had painted it, so I went with it. It just happens to match our hand-me-down furniture perfectly. I have never been one to want to buy new stuff, but I am getting to that point now!
My husband and my brother in law are going to do some shiplap, paint, and give the fireplace a whitewash. More pictures to come of that DIY this summer! Until then, I have been looking for some new and creative ways to dress up our otherwise boring walls.
In particular, I have been working on creating some more “memorable” space in our home. To be honest, our house is pretty minimal. I have a very type A personality and clutter and mess is something I can’t handle. However, I took a look around and realized I hadn’t updated any of our family photos for… like five years! My kids need to see themselves on the walls as part of this family–just like I did when I was a kid. I suppose scrolling through pictures on Mama’s phone has been the equivalent of that, for my kids.
Well, I had an idea… For Easter, my Mama gave each of us “adults” a little basket with some candy and also inside the bag, was a little box. I didn’t realize until I got home, that it was a collage of a picture that was made into a puzzle! Julia and I had SO much fun putting it together, that I reached out to the company, Collage. Here is what I found:
Not only was the website easy to navigate, they have a ton of fun gift ideas! With Mother’s Day just around the corner, how about a Phone Case with a picture of the grand kids? Or maybe a Reusable Tote Bag with your favorite photos on it? I was also extremely impressed with their super-fast customer service response rate. With how much online shopping people do these days, this is such an important factor when I decide to make purchases with a new company. Collage was friendly, speedy, and kind!
I continued browsing and stumbled across a new, fresh idea to jazz up our space… a canvas collage! Because our little family of four has yet to do professional photos (It’s on my list!), this was he perfect way to keep picture frames to a minimum but also create new, Memorable Space.
On the website, I went through and made the selection of how many photos I wanted to insert into the collage. There are of course, so many ways to manipulate the photos. And then I saw the Monogrammed letter in one, and I thought that was a great accent! There were several different fonts to choose from, and I ended up choosing the font, Carolina. Specifically, I chose the 8 photograph Deco Monogram for the layout. Uploading the photos was easy, as well, just an upload tab and that’s it! I dragged the photos into the design and I was done. I think in all, it probably took me 10 minutes! I hit save, submit, and entered in my information and I was done. Voila!
The Canvas print from Collage was delivered within that week, wrapped in plastic, and secured in a tight cardboard box. Unwrapping it was so FUN, and the kids LOVED seeing themselves plastered all over this giant canvas. I love this SO much! I used some symmetry with the photos (Type A!) so there is a balance of the kids along with Ross and me.
I paired up with Collage and they will be giving one of the Band of Mamas followers a 20×24 Canvas for FREE! Stay tuned this week during the celebration of giveaways as the blog turns ONE and you too, could freshen up your space with a beautiful 20×24 Canvas photo (or collage!) from Collage as well!
XO,
Linds
